IMACS Faculty
IMACS is all about providing young
children with the opportunity to be taught by gifted people, experts in
their fields who combine a deep understanding and love of the subject matter
with a commitment to the education of our nation's most precious resource,
our children.
So often, access to dedicated and exceptional
professionals and academics does not occur until much later in a student's
university career, but IMACS students
have this priceless opportunity at a time in their lives when such contact
can have the most profound effect.
Not only must new faculty members meet
exacting professional standards that go far beyond those usually demanded of
teachers at this level, they must also undergo extensive training that
involves observing and working with the founders and creators of the
IMACS curriculum:

Terry Kaufman BA, MA
President
A former manager at IBM and an
experienced teacher of both the mathematics and computer science
programs, Terry combines his love of mathematics with a total commitment
to excellence in education. Terry is himself a graduate of the
mathematics program used at IMACS
and designed by his father, Burt, and was thus able to obtain his
Bachelors and Masters degrees in just four years from The Johns Hopkins
University. He now dedicates his time to ensuring that
IMACS students have the same
opportunity, namely, to excel in the mathematical and computational
sciences. |

Ted Sweet BS, MS, PhD
